India is a country full of diversities and the culture here is such that there is an equal place for all. Here men are considered as gods and women as goddesses. There is no question of discrimination in this. An example of this is found in Gujarat. Jhulasan village is about 20 kilometers from Gandhinagar in Gujarat.

There is a temple of Mata in this village called Dola Mata temple. This form of the goddess is not mentioned in any scripture, but people here have deep faith in this goddess. And the biggest thing is that it is said about the goddess located in this temple that Dola Mata was a Muslim woman. Come learn how a Muslim woman became a goddess and how her temple was built.

There are many temples in the world, many of which have some interesting stories behind them. Everyone has this belief that if there is a temple, then the Hindu god would be worshiped there, but it is not so. There is also a temple where devotees worship a Muslim woman. People come from far and wide to worship in this temple.

The history of Dola Mata temple is told that some 850 years ago there was a great terror of robbers. Robbers often came and looted here. Once a Muslim woman from a neighboring village was passing through this village. She finds out that the looters are causing havoc in the village. The woman challenged the robbers and gave up her life while fighting with them. His samadhi was built at the place where the woman gave up his life and later the temple was built there.

The village came into the limelight when Sunita Williams, an Indian-origin astronaut, came to the village with her father to see a goddess named Bola Mata. Jhulasan village has a deep connection with astronaut Sunita Williams. This is her ancestral village and she has come and worshiped in this temple.

When Sunita Williams went on a space journey, an unbroken flame was lit in this temple for her safe return, which continued to burn continuously for 4 months. Very few people would know this. A specialty of this village is also that in this village with a population of about 5 thousand, almost every household has some members abroad.

Despite Dola Mata being Muslim, there is not a single Muslim family in the village. However, Sunday and Thursday are considered to be the day of Dola Mata’s vow. A large number of Muslims also come from the surrounding villages on this day.

The temple of Dola Mata is grand as well as quite beautiful. But there is no idol of a goddess here, the villagers worship only stone covered in colored clothes which the villagers worship. It is said about the temple that Dola Mata still protects the entire village and fulfills the wishes of all.
