The history of Dola Mata temple is told that some 850 years ago there was a great terror of robbers. Robbers often came and looted here. Once a Muslim woman from a neighboring village was passing through this village. She finds out that the looters are causing havoc in the village. The woman challenged the robbers and gave up her life while fighting with them. His samadhi was built at the place where the woman gave up his life and later the temple was built there.
The village came into the limelight when Sunita Williams, an Indian-origin astronaut, came to the village with her father to see a goddess named Bola Mata. Jhulasan village has a deep connection with astronaut Sunita Williams. This is her ancestral village and she has come and worshiped in this temple.
When Sunita Williams went on a space journey, an unbroken flame was lit in this temple for her safe return, which continued to burn continuously for 4 months. Very few people would know this. A specialty of this village is also that in this village with a population of about 5 thousand, almost every household has some members abroad.
Despite Dola Mata being Muslim, there is not a single Muslim family in the village. However, Sunday and Thursday are considered to be the day of Dola Mata’s vow. A large number of Muslims also come from the surrounding villages on this day.
The temple of Dola Mata is grand as well as quite beautiful. But there is no idol of a goddess here, the villagers worship only stone covered in colored clothes which the villagers worship. It is said about the temple that Dola Mata still protects the entire village and fulfills the wishes of all.
This temple of Dola Mata offers a unique example of Hindu-Muslim unity. It is said that not only people of Hindu religion come to worship in this temple, but people of Muslim religion also come here and bow their heads.
